A private luxury cave experience is an exclusive way to discover the historic Caves of Hella. This curated tour includes private guiding along with tastings of locally produced whisky, gin, and mead, paired with regional delicacies.

Your personal guide will lead you through three fascinating man-made caves and into two of them. These caves are believed to be among the oldest surviving archaeological structures in Iceland, with some theories suggesting they predate the Viking settlement period. As you explore, your guide will share detailed stories, historical context, and links to Icelandic sagas that bring the caves and their origins to life.

During the visit, you will sample Flóki Whisky and VOR premium gin. You will learn how these spirits are crafted using Icelandic barley grown on a nearby farm. Flóki Whisky holds a unique place in Icelandic history as the country’s first and only whisky distillery.

The Luxury Tour is bookable for private groups only and needs to be booked in advance. The tour will take approximately 90 minutes.

• Dietary preferences can be accommodated. Guests who are vegan or vegetarian are kindly asked to inform us in advance by email so arrangements can be made.

• The Luxury Tour is available exclusively for private groups and must be booked ahead of time. The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes. 
• Please note that it is not possible to visit the Caves without guidance.
• We will explore the caves and their surroundings, please be prepared for a short walk between the caves and dress according to weather.

Cancellation policy

• Luxury tours are fully refundable if cancelled at least 3 days in advance. A 50% fee applies for cancellations made 24–72 hours before the tour. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable.
