On this day tour you will experience the magic of a glacier. You will witness its unique energy and stunning beauty.
Sólheimajökull glacier is the southernmost glacier in Iceland, it forms part of Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. You will come across crevices, sink holes and ice ridges. You will also be able to see how the glacier has changed over the last decades.
At the beginning of the tour your guide will go through a safety briefing. No special skills are required and no prior experience is needed. The ice-walk/climb is suitable for people in generally good health.
It´s not necessary to ice-climb to join the tour (some people only want to enjoy the ice-walk and that´s totally fine – it´s still an amazing experience).
We will provide all the necessary equipment: crampons, a helmet and a harness. You will need to wear good shoes (hiking boots or snow shoes) and warm clothes (it gets cold on the glacier even on sunny days).
