We have been visiting Þórsmörk (Thorsmork) since we were little vikings.

Self-drive Þórsmörk?
We commend you for wanting to get off the ring road. This is truly off the beaten path. While there may be “roads” into Þórsmörk and it is possible with a proper 4×4 vehicle to get into the valley of Þór, even we wouldn’t do it without a super jeep. We honestly recommend parking the rental car, letting us take you to our backyard. This way you’ll be able to enjoy this magical, rugged landscape with less stress and more safety than you would going full self drive. Since we are here daily for most of the year we recommend you save our number in case you need some help. If you find yourself in an emergency call 112 for local police and search and rescue.
