Amidst South Iceland’s old, abandoned trading route, Þríhyrningur is a striking mountain set in an area of outstanding landscape and historical interest. Þríhyrningur’s location allows for peaceful, gentle/moderate hiking and immersion into Iceland’s captivating nature.
Derelict, remote farmsteads are encountered as well as many locations from Njáls Saga e.g. Flosagjá on Þríhyrningur where ancient Vikings once hid. Camping overnight allows full appreciation of the tranquility of nature.
